A new arts space is due to open in the Thameside Complex Grays town centre. This space called "UNIT” has 4 music areas; a workshop area for arts activities, a performance stage for presentations and live events, a community radio station and a media production suite. “UNIT” will host cultural events, performance opportunities, live music, poetry and art exhibitions encouraging original art and nurturing new talent. Unit will be run by Quest Music Serivces who are a non-for-profit arts organisation, aiming to improve arts and culture for everyone in Thurrock.  Quest Music Services will deliver workshops in Music Production, Radio Presenting, DJing, Positive Rap, Vocal Coaching & Street Art; Music Therapy sessions for SEND children and youth at risk and ‘Introduction to Music’ for early years and new families. These workshops will be available for people of all ages and abilities, run by qualified tutors in a comfortable and professional environment.
The community radio station will showcase local DJs/MCs, singer/songwriters and musicians to online audiences, sharing arts news, promoting Thurrock’s services and local businesses, making a better well connected Thurrock.  The media production suite in “UNIT” will be available to support artist development, recording and releasing new music and to improve Thurrock’s creative industries. Quest Music Services are linked to over 500 creative practitioners, musicians, visual artists and singers across South Essex and has a strong network within the urban music industry in the UK and USA. “UNIT” can be hired by other art groups, to meet, plan and deliver art based projects in Thurrock. “UNIT” is a place that encourages imagination. A place that explores and guides music discovery, empowering individually and diversity.
Quest Music Services provide music making opportunities and arts experiences for children, young people and adults in Thurrock.  They tailor outreach programmes suited to local needs and interest to reduce anti social behaviour through the arts and support people in isolation. Quest Music Services work with local authorities, youth services, schools, charitable groups, internationally known artists and large music festivals. Supported by Hew Watt Family Charitable Fund, Big Lottery, Arts Council England, Thurrock CVS, FSJ Trust, Greggs Bakery & community donations.
